2016 was a crazy year y’all 🤘🏼🎸

I toured the country, was newly moved to Nashville, recorded my first EP w/ @menacemusicpro , went to Europe for the first time, played live on TV, opened for major artists, wrote songs with friends, bought a car that I’m thankful to still be driving (thank you @jeep 😂), celebrated my Pe-Paw & Grandpa Wynn’s 63rd & final anniversary before he passed away that following year which inspired me to write “Seven Minutes In Heaven” that @reba cut, & so much more.

Sure is crazy to think how far I’ve come in 10 years. I’m so grateful. 2025 was a year of a lot of major change for me. But 2026 I know is gonna be a special year full of lots of milestones including… NEW MUSIC RELEASED!!

It’s been a year y’all, one of my mentors & musical icon’s @thestevecropper went on to become the newest member of Heaven’s band today. I was so blessed to have the honor of sharing the stage & writing many songs with Steve, but the biggest honor I had was calling him my friend.

I spent countless hours with him writing, talking about life & hearing stories about him working with everyone from The Beatles to Jimmy Hendrix to John Belushi to Otis Redding & beyond. But the coolest thing about Steve is that when he told those stories about these fellow icons he wasn’t telling me them because they were icons, he was telling me about them because they were his friends. That’s how Steve saw people & saw the world. He didn’t care who you were or what you have done, he cared about the person you were & the friend you were to him.

I wrote many songs with Steve & shared many special memories with him & his amazing family. But when I thought of what song to share today this was the only one that felt right. I wrote this with Steve & @lancecarpenter a few years back when I was playing some shows with Steve at the @keywestsongwritersfestival that he was kind enough to have me out to sing his many hits with him.

This song was who Steve was. A fierce friend, a loving Father, & a husband who adored his wife. I feel blessed to know the man behind the music. As much as I will miss writing songs with & learning from him, I will miss my friend the most who I always felt seen with. I love you Steve, & thank you for believing in me.

@brettjamessongs was a one of a kind voice & songwriter. Anytime I had the chance to go see him live I would go out of my way to be there. I did it to remind me why I moved to Nashville, to sing & write songs like that.
This video is from the last time I saw Brett in person. He was playing my buddy @stormewarren ‘s writers round @exit209withstormewarren with two of my other hero’s @wensongs & @leethomasmiller I for sure wasn’t gonna miss those 3 on stage at the same time. So, I wrote a song in the morning on music row & walked down to Broadway to see them play. I had no idea it would be the last time I’d shake Brett’s hand & hear him sing “Jesus Take The Wheel” in person but it was as magical as ever.
Brett, I didn’t know you as well as I wanted to but I’m gonna miss you like I did. And I’m gonna pray for your family & loved ones like I did.

On a Tuesday night this past September in Albany, NY I got to see my friend @alexandrakaymusic (who I played dive bars with years ago) sing songs we wrote together to a packed arena opening for @jellyroll615 on tour 🏟️🤘🏼🎸✨

I took this 1st little video in my New York hotel room before the show of a song called “More Than You” that we wrote w/ @andrewecapra because I knew she would be playing it that night. This was after we had been on a writers retreat working on writing songs for AK’s new record she’s working on.

I was blown away hearing songs I had written being sang to a full arena for the first time in person. Multiple songs at that.

Y’all, I’ve known AK for years, she is as kind, talented, & authentic now as she was the first time she saw me playing a bar in STL years ago & DM’ed me wanting to write some some songs together. I drove from Nahsville to that “Little Yellow Kitchen” in Illinois that she sings about in her songs to write w/ her & we hit it off immediately. Now 6 AK cuts in & millions of streams later I’m blessed to still be along for the ride with AK & her incredible team. I’m so crazy grateful to her for believing in the songs we write & always still giving me a call when it’s time to write the next record. 🙏🏼✍🏼

I can genuinely say that the SKY IS THE LIMIT for this woman & her amazing team. I can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

I recorded this one take during sound check when I was on tour playing some shows in Oregon w/ @jessiegofficial & @jacquieroar . This show we were in Canby Oregon playing this cool chapel built in the 1800’s that has such a cool feel to it. I decided to play a song I wrote w/ @andrewecapra @marykutter & @brianalexandermusic called “I Talk To God” which felt appropriate considering we were in a chapel.

The first place I started playing music as a kid was in a little church in Flint Hill, MO in grade school that was very similar to this little chapel I was in. I’m grateful to have started my musical journey there because without that foundation of my music & faith I wouldn’t have been able to write songs like this or songs like “Seven Minutes In Heaven” that @reba beautifully cut.

I wanna send this #Wynnsday song out to the loved ones of my friend @kylecjacobs because it reminds me of how Kyle spoke about God a lot. It’s also his Birthday today & I know he is up in Heaven talking to the Lord right now. Happy Heaven you birthday brother, & love ya. 💙🙏🏼😇

I was reflecting because year ago this past weekend @reba surprised a @cma fest crowd by singing her new song “Seven Minutes In Heaven” Live for the very first time. I was on tour on the other side of the world in the UK w/ @jessiegofficial & @aaronjgoodvin at the time but my manger @cindyowen111 got a video for me to see. I was blown away🤯🙏🏼.
Since then Reba has released the song & it was even nominated for Female Video of the Year at the @cmtawards. She sang it live on @nbcthevoice the @todayshow @theryman the Grand Ole @opry as well as many other iconic stages. Grateful is an understatement to everyone that made that possible. From my team, to Reba’s team, to my co-writer @oliviarudeen , to my Grandpa who I wrote it about, to the Queen herself 👩🏻‍🦰👑

Funny enough I’m gonna be on tour this week w/ @jessiegofficial again playing some shows in Oregon & would love to see y’all there so I can sing this for ya live in person.

Nashville got over it’s yearly average of snow in one day. So how did we spend the Snow Day/Snow Week?!

- Cats are big fans of snow days (see pictures)
- My beautiful wife @kmdid21 & I had to go outside (wore my @aarontippin Bomber tour jacket from the 90’s) to clean off our cars & get the mail etc.
- Came back inside (FREEZING) and threw together my Homemade chicken noodle Ramen Soup to warm us up.
